Housing Sales in Extremadura Surge by 35.8% in October
The real estate market in Extremadura experienced a notable increase in October, with housing sales rising by 35.8% compared to the same month last year. This growth, while significant, fell short of the national average increase of 51.31%, according to data released by Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE). In total, 1,256 housing transactions were completed in the region.
Breakdown of Housing Transactions
Of the total transactions recorded in October, 1,002 involved free-market housing, while 254 were related to government-subsidized properties. Regarding the age of the properties, 195 sales were for newly built homes, while 1,061 involved previously owned properties.
Overall Real Estate Activity
In addition to the housing sales, a total of 2,284 transactions involving residential properties were registered. These included 617 inheritances, 49 donations, and no exchanges.
The broader real estate market in Extremadura saw 3,582 urban property transfers during the month. These consisted of 1,974 sales, 913 inheritances, 80 donations, 2 exchanges, and 613 transactions classified under other types.
Rural Property Transfers
Transactions involving rural properties also showed significant activity, with 1,825 recorded transfers. Among these were 765 inheritances, 670 sales, 65 donations, 11 exchanges, and 314 transactions of other types.
The continued growth in housing sales reflects a dynamic real estate sector in Extremadura, driven by a mix of free-market and subsidized property transactions across both urban and rural areas.
